Choosing a wedding date There are a lot of
things to factor in when choosing a wedding date. Many people have a favorite
season or month and want to celebrate their wedding and future
wedding
anniversaries during that time. Some people want to have wedding photos
with a spring or autumn background. Other things you should consider when
choosing a wedding date are the following: • Are there any dates you need to avoid (your younger sisters graduation, another wedding you are invited to, annual vacations, pregnant maid of honor, military commitment, or religious observation)? • The peak wedding season is April-October. During these months it will be harder to book venues, florists, caterers, wedding favors, etc. It may be cheaper (and easier) to book an off-season wedding. • Holiday weekends allow out of town guests a little extra time to travel since many guests will have vacation days from work, but planning a wedding during a holiday weekend also has its drawbacks. You will have a greater challenge in finding hotel rooms and flights will be more expensive. There will also be increased traffic on the roads and in the airports.
