Wedding receiving line
|
The wedding receiving line at the reception
(or at the end of the ceremony) is made up of both sets of parents and the
newlywed couple, it is optional for the bridesmaids and ushers. The usual order
of the receiving line is the bride's mom and dad, groom's mom and dad, bride
and groom (followed by the bridesmaids and ushers). The receiving line welcomes
the guests as they enter the reception. The receiving line should also briefly
thank the guests for coming. An advantage to having a receiving line is that
your parents and the wedding party get to meet all your guests. Also, the
newlyweds will be very busy during the reception and may not have time to
socialize with everyone during, so they can at least greet all their guests
during the receiving line. It is best to have the receiving line where your
guests will be traveling (entrance or exit). If possible, have refreshments
available while your guests wait on line. If you are interested in having your
receiving line at the end of the ceremony, make sure you talk to your officiant
to make sure this is a possibility. Some couples choose not to have a receiving
line to save time. By Nicole Mazzeo Wrapwithus wedding favors |
